Tish through the years

Tish grew up in London, England in late '50s, early '60s art scene.  While attending St. Martins School of Art (today known as Central St. Martins, part of the University of London with notable alums including: Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, MIA), her design sense and style was influenced by the bold lines of Toulouse Lautrec, the color palettes of Peter Max and the analog lettering style of early 1960's commercial art.

Upon graduating from art school, Tish jumped an ocean liner for New York City.  While living in the Greenwich Village, she applied her artistic skills at Reader's Digest.  A year later, she was swept off her feet by a man with Southern charm and moved to New Orleans, LA.

Tish's unique and festive Gift Enclosure Cards grew out of her own children's gift-giving needs.  As her kids were invited to more and more parties, it became increasingly expensive and time-consuming to buy full-sized cards to accompany so many gifts.  To simply her life, Tish designed cards for her children, then her friends' children, and before long, Tish McCarthy Designs was off and running.

Forty years later, Tish's gift enclosure and notecards still provide an upbeat, festive element to any gift.  They are economical, which your customer's will truly appreciate, printed on recycled paper, and best of all, you never have to worry about last minute cards!  With Tish's cards, you always have cards on hand.  All you have to do is tear one off, write a note in the generous amount of space in the middle, and either tape to the packet or attach with a ribbon.

Today, Tish McCarthy's cards with hand-written lettering and design are a connection to the past during our current digital age.

To this day, Tish has never laid a hand upon a computer keyboard.  EVER!
